Herley Awarded a Contract for $3.4 Million by the U.S. Navy for AN/ARA-63 Tactical Instrument Landing Systems for F/A-18E/F/G and E-2D Aircraft
LANCASTER, Pa., April 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Herley Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: HRLY) announced today that it has received an option award of approximately $3.4 million to supply Tactical Instrument Landing Systems ("TILS") for both the F/A-18E/F/G and E-2D Naval aircraft. This is the fifth award against the five-year contract for Herley.
The AN/ARA-63 TILS is a microwave landing system that provides precise elevation and azimuth guidance information necessary for critical aircraft carrier landings. The Tactical Instrument Landing System began as an initial multi-year contract for the F/A-18E/F Boeing 'Super Hornet' and was expanded to cover the E/A-18G 'Growler' jammer aircraft and the E-2D 'Advanced Hawkeye' radar surveillance aircraft.
