Hennessy Black Announces 'DJ Mixmasters' Program at 2010 Winter Music Conference
National DJ Program to Infuse 'Done Different' High-Energy Moments at Events Across the Country
NEW YORK, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Hennessy, the number one selling cognac in the world, today announced its first-ever Hennessy Black DJ Mixmasters program at the 2010 Winter Music Conference, the largest music industry gathering in the world. Hennessy Black has selected eight DJs from across the country to combine their versatile styles with the Hennessy Black lifestyle of fun and distinctive flair to bring 'Done Different' experiences to the hottest clubs in the biggest party cities nationwide.
These widely popular DJ Mixmasters will be formally introduced at the premiere Hennessy Black Penthouse located in Miami's South Beach area, on Friday, March 26th. In this Miami hotspot, the DJs will not only be mixing music, but will also act as bartenders mixing drinks and debuting their own signature Hennessy Black cocktails for their friends and special invited guests.
"The new Hennessy Black brand is truly a symbol of Hennessy 'Done Different.' The partnership with the DJ Mixmasters is an ideal way to showcase how perfect Hennessy Black is for high-energy settings," said Andy Glaser, Senior Vice President Hennessy Business. "Hennessy Black is a highly versatile new cognac and this program is a unique way to connect with our consumers' nightlife experiences."
Leading this group of DJ Mixmasters are the nationally renowned DJs, DJ D-Nice and DJ Vice.
DJ D-Nice
D-Nice is the stage name of beat boxer, rapper, producer and photographer Derrick Jones, who began his career in the mid-1980s with the hip hop group Boogie Down Productions. D-Nice played a major role in shaping hip-hop in the 80s and 90s as we know it and continues to mold the DJ scene today. D-Nice captures all of these 'Done Different' moments that have crafted the world's music scene through his extraordinary photography.
DJ Vice
With over 1.5 million listeners already tuned into his turntable skills every weekend on Power 106 Los Angeles, DJ Vice also has made fellow sneaker heads happy by opening up a store in Santa Barbara. Most recently, DJ Vice has lent his creative input while helping produce music with artists like Timbaland, Pharell and Kanye West. Considered one of the hardest working DJs in the business, DJ Vice ensures that nightlife is 'Done Different' from indie artists and celebrities alike.
Additionally, several local DJs joining DJ Vice and DJ D-Nice from across the country include:
DJ Bobby Trends (New York)
DJ Bobby Trends' impressive work has landed him at some of the hottest parties in the world – including parties for Mariah Carey, Jay-Z and R-Kelly. DJ Bobby Trends has opened for Funk Master Flex and Cipha Sounds – but it's the fact that he started as an intern at Hot 97 and has worked his way up the ranks to infuse fresh air into New York nightlife that makes him a DJ 'Done Different.'
DJ Timbuck2 (Chicago)
By the age of 21, Timbuck2 had made his mark on not only the Chicago club scene but also every major city in the United States. Timbuck2 became the youngest Mix show DJ and on-air personality in WGCI-FM's history. When not spinning, Timbuck2 enjoys 'Done Different' moments when break dancing, skateboarding and studio production.
DJ Omega (Philadelphia)
Influenced by legends like Kool Herc, Kid Capri and DJ Jazzy Jeff, Omega hit the turntables at a young age. A few years later, a WPHI Philly 103.9 employee heard DJ Omega's set and offered him an internship. Over the past several years, DJ Omega has gone from intern to one of the country's most sought after DJs and that's what makes DJ Omega 'Done Different.'
DJ Ross One (Miami)
While evolving his style in the competitive New York City club DJ circuit, DJ Ross One proved his status by pursuing his passion for photography and receiving a Master's Degree from the School of Visual Arts.
Inspired by the mix of old and new, with an emphasis on finding his own style, DJ Ross One has gone on to take Miami nightlife in an extraordinarily unique direction, making sure that going out in Miami is always 'Done Different.'
DJ Brandi Garcia (Houston)
A 'Done Different' triple threat, Brandi Garcia DJs on radio, at clubs and creates mixtapes. She started in Huntsville, Alabama as the "Midday Mami" and launched her award-winning mixtape series, "Southern Stilettos." Brandi is especially extraordinary as she is the ONLY female in Texas that is on the radio, on television and keeps it 'Done Different' at her residencies.
DJ Big Von (San Francisco)
DJ Big Von has been running the Bay area radio scene for over fifteen years. His talent for rocking crowds is known nationwide; he has DJ'd for artists, such as 50 Cent, David Banner, Mos Def, Wu-Tang Clan and Lupe Fiasco. DJ Big Von is a mentor to aspiring artists, teaching them that in the music business, if it's 'Done Different,' you have a greater chance at success.
The Hennessy Black DJ Mixmasters program kicked off this month with private local events in New Jersey, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Philadelphia. Each party featured the DJs as brand ambassadors who created a 'Done Different' atmosphere full of energy, mystery and intrigue. The program will continue throughout 2010 bringing high-energy moments to parties across the country all year long.
