Hearst Business Media Names Dr. Charles Tuchinda Chief Innovation Officer, Healthcare
NEW YORK, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Hearst Business Media, a unit of Hearst Corporation, announced today that it has named Dr. Charles Tuchinda chief innovation officer, healthcare. Tuchinda will also serve as vice president, innovation for the Group's Zynx Health and First DataBank subsidiaries.

In his role, Tuchinda will lead innovation strategies for new products and will oversee market research and competitive intelligence initiatives for Hearst Business Media's healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical businesses. He will be based in two offices: Los Angeles with Zynx Health and South San Francisco with First DataBank.

Prior to joining Hearst, Tuchinda worked at Eclipsys Corporation since 2006, most recently serving as vice president of business development, leading acquisitions, forging key partnerships, and developing the product roadmap.
Prior to Eclipsys, Tuchinda was a founding partner of PagerBox/Zydecom, Inc., a company that launched a Web-based, wired-to-wireless messaging gateway for hospital-wide communication. He was founder and general manager of Tuchinda Industries, LLC, a software development company that was responsible for a new radiology information system, an online medical education system, and a meta-analysis research tool. Additionally, Tuchinda served as co-investigator in the clinical research arm of Cardiac Auscultatory Recording Database, from 1997-2004, where he invented an innovative database delivering heartsound recordings online from patients. Tuchinda's experience also includes positions as an associate at Flagship Ventures, where he specialized in early stage investments in health information technology, and an associate at Millennium Pharmaceuticals in the business development, in-licensing group.
Tuchinda holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, board certification in internal medicine, an M.D. from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and a bachelor's from Harvard University.
