Healthcare Productivity Automation Names Rene Torrado General Counsel and Chief Security Officer
Former Federal District Court Law Clerk and Business Intelligence Expert Will Shape Security Policies for Healthcare Business Process Automation Company
FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthcare Productivity Automation (HPA), a provider of advanced healthcare workflow automation technologies, today announced that it has hired attorney Rene Torrado as its General Counsel and Chief Security Officer. Torrado, who specializes in the legal aspects of digital transactions and electronically stored information, will focus his skills on maximizing the integrity and security of HPA's automation solutions for its healthcare clients.
Torrado comes to HPA from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, where he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge James F. Holderman and the Honorable Wayne R. Andersen. His background also includes experience in private practice, where he focused on complex information technology and security issues for emerging high-growth companies in healthcare and banking. Prior to pursuing his law degree, Torrado served in a number of consulting and management positions including The Washington Post Company, PwC – Diamond Advisory Services (formerly Diamond Technology and Management Consultants), RDA Corporation and the Council on Foundations.
"One of our primary goals at HPA is to achieve the highest possible standards of security for the healthcare sector. Rene's unique skills, training and commitment will help us achieve that objective," said Sal Novin, CEO of Healthcare Productivity Automation. "Rene understands the security and confidentiality challenges inherent in the complex healthcare field. His IT consulting background, combined with his legal expertise, is invaluable."
"Security in healthcare is of paramount importance—and yet when you look at security mandates and how they are implemented, there is enormous room for interpretation," Torrado stated. "HPA's Health Mason sidesteps many of these thorny issues by taking information exchange out of human hands. By combining this inherent benefit with the latest data security techniques and protocols, HPA will help its clients achieve the best practices in the industry."
In addition to his primary duties, Torrado will draw upon his management background to help the HPA executive team build the company's sales capability.
