Head & Shoulders® Tips Its Hat to Greatness on the Baseball Field
Iconic Brand to Celebrate Great Plays this MLB Season
CINCINNATI, June 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Head & Shoulders®, the official shampoo of Major League Baseball (MLB), unveiled today "Head & Shoulders Hats Off," a social movement designed to salute MLB teams for their outstanding accomplishments on the field. No stranger to numerous "Hats Off" moments of his own, Head & Shoulders brand ambassador Joe Mauer is leading this movement by encouraging fans to join the celebration on Head & Shoulders' official Twitter handle @HSforMen for the opportunity to support a great cause.
Fans can give a virtual tip of the cap for great plays on the field by tweeting the player's team hashtag that can be found at the Head & Shoulders for Men Facebook fan page. At the end of the season, Head & Shoulders will make a donation to the national MLB Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program and a donation directly to the local RBI Chapter of the MLB team, where established, that earns the most Hats Off tweets.
"With this program, Head & Shoulders is encouraging fans to recognize stellar achievements on the field. Whether it's a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth or a seemingly impossible catch of a foul ball, we want to celebrate these entertaining accomplishments," says April Anslinger, North America Brand Manager of Head & Shoulders at Procter & Gamble.
As the official shampoo of Major League Baseball, Head & Shoulders gives both fans and players great looking hair for that extra boost of confidence that allows them to focus on what's important – the game. "Head & Shoulders' Hats Off is a great way for fans to recognize MLB players for their hard work and dedication this season," says Mauer. "I am excited to be part of it, and happy that it gives fans the opportunity to help support a great cause."
With over 50 years of proven technology and success, Head & Shoulders is a trusted daily grooming staple of professional athletes as the official shampoo of MLB and the NFL.
