MINNEAPOLIS, March 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Health and Human Services Inspector General Daniel R. Levinson and newly appointed Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Deputy Administrator for Program Integrity Peter P. Budetti, MD, JD will address more than a thousand health care compliance and ethics professionals during the health care industry's largest, single most comprehensive compliance conference – the 14th Annual Compliance Institute – April 18-21, 2010, Dallas, Texas, the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) announced today.
As part of his first days in the role of Deputy Administrator for Program Integrity, Dr. Budetti will outline the Obama Administration's priorities in reducing health care fraud during his address on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.

At a key pre-conference session on Sunday, April 18, 2010, CMS Program Integrity Director Kimberly Brandt, Angela Brice-Smith, director of the Medicaid Program Integrity Group, and Brenda Tranchida, director of the Plan Compliance and Oversight Group will present a program entitled Program Integrity across CMS: Medicare, Medicaid and Parts C and D.
Ms. Brandt and HEAT Liaison to the Medicare Program Integrity Group Joseph Strazzire will present a session on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 entitled, Preparing for the Great Unknown: What Recent Government Health Care Fraud Efforts Mean For You. During this session Brandt and Strazzire will outline what the recent government focus on health care fraud means to provider compliance efforts, as well as how to prepare for the legislative fraud and abuse provisions pending in Congress are enacted. The speakers will also discuss how recent law enforcement/CMS initiatives are helping shape CMS prevention efforts.
