Hastings Relocates Entertainment Superstore in Killeen, Texas

AMARILLO, Texas, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hastings Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq: HAST), a leading multimedia entertainment retailer, today announced it will bring over 34,000 square feet of retail under one roof, to the newly relocated store in Killeen, Texas, opening its doors on Friday, August 27, 2010.  With 147 stores located in 20 states, Hastings' huge selection of new entertainment products coupled with its unique buy back program of Books, Music, Movies and Video games positions the A to Z entertainment venue as a one-stop shopping experience for its customers.

Our Killeen store, located at 1500 Lowes Boulevard, will staff 55 employees and be open Monday through Saturday 9 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 11 PM. The superstore will also feature our Hardback Coffee Cafe that offers WiFi internet access and serves gourmet coffee and pastries. Our Hardback Coffee Cafe will be open Monday through Saturday 9 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday 10 AM to 11 PM.

Grand Opening festivities will include two Grand Opening weekends, the first starting on Friday, September 10th and culminating on Saturday, September 11th, with a drawing for one year of free product giveaways, ranging from movies, books, CD's, video games and coffee. The final Grand Opening events will take place Friday, September 17th through Saturday, September 18th, with a storewide sale and more giveaways.

Our new Killeen store will carry over 90,000 new and used books, over 25,000 new and used music titles, and over 15,000 new and used movie sale titles, including Blu-ray discs.   Additionally, the store will offer a wide selection of new and used video games and video gaming consoles, a consumer electronics department with an assortment of products including Blu-ray players, iPods and MP3 players, musical instruments, and accessories, and a Trends department with items such as comics, apparel including t-shirts, action figures, posters and greeting cards. The store will also offer a diverse newsstand featuring over 2,000 magazine titles located adjacent to the Cafe.  

Hastings' Killeen store will become "The 49 cent Movie Rental Store," offering over 7,000 titles for as low as 49 cents per day or $1.99 for one week.  Additionally, we are proud to offer low everyday pricing, after early return credits, for all movies and games we rent.
