Hamilton Sundstrand Honored as a Boeing Supplier of the Year
WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies (NYSE: UTX), has been recognized as Supplier of the Year in the Pathfinder category by The Boeing Company. Hamilton Sundstrand was one of 14 companies honored on April 13 for exceptional commitment to excellence in working with Boeing.

The award was given in the Pathfinder category in recognition of Hamilton Sundstrand's commitment to the 787 Dreamliner program. The Pathfinder category recognizes suppliers that show outstanding effort, meet or exceed Boeing expectations, and bring new capability providing Boeing a competitive advantage. Hamilton Sundstrand was chosen from a pool of more than 12,000 active Boeing suppliers in nearly 100 countries around the world.

Hamilton Sundstrand is the largest 787 systems supplier with nine major systems, including the electric environmental control system, electrical power generating and start system, primary power distribution system, remote power distribution system, ram air turbine emergency power system, auxiliary power system, nitrogen generation system, fire detection and suppression system, and electric motor pump. Hamilton Sundstrand also supplies the gearbox system for the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine.
The 787 program is expected to generate more than $15 billion in revenue for Hamilton Sundstrand over the program's life.
