Orlando@50+ attendees will experience life-changing technology with the CapTel 800i telephone from Sponsor Hamilton CapTel
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Hamilton CapTel along with partner HearUSA, is demonstrating the CapTel 800i telephone for nearly 25,000 attendees at Orlando@50+, AARP's national event and expo, September 30 – October 2. Speakers at the conference are focused on helping the 50+ audience live their best life and include celebrity luminaries Whoopi Goldberg, Larry King and Jane Pauley.
For three days, attendees can join Hamilton CapTel at the Life@50+ Phone Booth in the Technology Pavilion #419 and experience the CapTel 800i captioned telephone by making a free local or long distance call to anyone in the United States. Each visitor to the Life@50+ Phone Booth will receive a collectible Hamilton CapTel lapel pin. Representatives from Hamilton CapTel will also feature the CapTel 800i phone at three separate informational presentations, titled, "See what you've been missing," on the Orlando@50+ Technology Stage throughout the event. One lucky individual at each of the presentations will win a free iPad.
"Even a simple phone call can be frustrating if you just can't hear on the phone," said Dixie Ziegler, vice president of Hamilton CapTel. "Hamilton CapTel is a proven solution that eliminates this frustration. There are over 30 million Americans who experience hearing loss and we want to introduce Hamilton CapTel and the CapTel 800i captioned telephone to as many people as possible. There's no reason anyone has to miss out on what is being said on the phone."
The CapTel 800i phone provides real-time, word-for-word captions of what is said on the phone. As a result, the user can read what is said on the large, bright display screen, ensuring confidence and clarity on both sides of the call. Working in conjunction with HearUSA, the Life@50+ Phone Booth offers 16 stations featuring the CapTel 800i telephone, allowing attendees to place free calls anywhere in the US.
The CapTel 800i phone will be available for purchase at the Orlando@50+ event. Additionally, the HearUSA Hearing Shop Booth #2033 will feature a modern apartment setting complete with a number of assistive devices designed to help individuals who experience hearing loss, including the CapTel 800i phone.
"We partnered with Hamilton CapTel because they offer an industry-leading solution for those who have difficulty hearing on the phone," said Jeremy Moser of HearUSA. "We are thrilled to demonstrate this life-changing technology at AARP's largest event of the year and we hope many Americans will see the advantage of captioned telephone and give it a try."
