Hair Cuttery Donates More Than 53,000 Haircuts to Underprivileged Children Heading Back to School
Hair Cuttery gives children in need a confidence boost for back to school
VIENNA, Va., Sept. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, today announced a donation of 53,822 free haircut certificates to underprivileged children—just in time for school. From August 1-15, children were able to give back to peers; for every child up to age 18 who purchased a haircut, one was donated back to a child in need locally. Donation certificates are valued at $20.

In addition to taking advantage of in-store donations, Hair Cuttery engaged thousands of supporters online. For those who shared a campaign image via Facebook or Twitter, an additional free haircut certificate was donated to a child in need. Hair Cuttery also encouraged customers to share back-to-school looks across social platforms to generate excitement for Share-A-Haircut.
To date, the Share-A-Haircut program has reached more than 975,000 children with haircut certificate donations, valued at $19.5 million.
