Guvera Limited Launches Beta In Australia With Huge Success, Revs Up For 2010 US Launch
GUVERA'S TECHNOLOGY WILL ALLOW FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF FREE VIDEO AND TELEVISION CONTENT IN ADDITION TO MUSIC
NEW YORK, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Guvera Limited, a search website for free music and digital content provided by brands, announced today that the Australian live beta test has been a huge success, with thousands of consumers downloading 100% completely free music, paid for by a list of over 40 Australian advertisers including Johnson & Johnson, Dominos Pizza, Schweppes, Pepsi, Activision, Contiki, McDonalds, Casio, Nestle, Harley Davidson and several movie studios, fashion and FMCG brands. Guvera CEO, Claes Loberg, also confirmed goals to distribute video and television content by mid-year through their already existing technology. The announcement comes on the heels of content agreements with Universal Music Group, EMI and IODA, offering consumers free, legal downloads from their full music libraries. In the weeks leading up to the US launch in March 2010, Guvera will be hosting events to walk brands through their technology and patented algorithms.
Guvera's technology includes three interfaces: one for the consumer to log in and search for and download free music, another for the advertiser to build channels and targeted campaigns, and a third for the artist and label to control any rules or restrictions regarding which brands are allowed to pay for their music to be downloaded.
When Guvera.com launches in the US, advertisers will be able to connect with consumers via branded channels, housing relevant styles of music and other digital content available for download and streams at no cost to the consumer. Guvera's algorithms dynamically determine which brands should be paying for which content based on live consumer tastes and preferences. Advertisers simply select features about their "personality" and their target audiences, and Guvera figures out the style of content that matches both the brand and the consumer profile. On the consumer end, geographic targeting techniques and software recognize locations of all users in addition to very micro level face to face knowledge, allowing for significantly more "free content" for each user.
Guvera's technology is extremely sophisticated, avoiding association between artist and advertiser, staying clear of implied endorsements. It does this by way of creating lists of available songs, multiple advertisers that offer each song and multiple songs available from each advertiser. The channel build and management tools have also been carefully crafted so they are easy to use. Large companies can create national campaigns as can smaller regional businesses targeting just a few hundred peopled within their direct vicinity. In Australia, the channel template system has been live for the past week with businesses, creative agencies and brands having direct access to log in, build a channel, develop a campaign, define a list of content, choose a target audience and hit "live."
The consumer experience on Guvera.com is a simple three step process: search, select and download. Once the consumer is logged in at Guvera.com, he or she will be able to search for a specific song, artist or genre. The consumer then clicks on the brand and will be taken to the branded channel where he or she can download or stream the file and other related files for free, without any DRM and playable on any device.
Claes Loberg, the inventor behind the Guvera model and CEO of Guvera Limited, commented, "We are very pleased by the reaction to the beta launch in Australia and look forward to our official launch in the US, where consumers will finally be able to utilize a non disruptive advertising music site to download free and legal music." He added, "Our technology is unlike any other site out there. Guvera doesn't make consumers sit through commercials, it just creates a branded experience with engaging content that will ultimately expand beyond music, rivaling some of the biggest players out there."
"Neutrogena prides itself on innovation and value for consumers. We are extremely excited to partner with this fresh launch from Guvera given its foundation in both these qualities," said Iain McCrea, Account Director at OMD (Johnson & Johnson, Neutrogena).
