Guangdong Development Bank Chooses Experian to Grow Its Credit Card Business in China
BEIJING, Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Experian®, the global information services company, has been appointed by Guangdong Development Bank (GDB) in China to help support the management and growth of its credit card business and the implementation of its retail credit strategies. GDB will deploy Experian's strategy management system Probe SM and Portfolio Reporting Studio (PRS) in China.
GDB is the first card-issuing bank in the industry to conduct modelling analysis of its customers' behaviours. Since the launch of its first credit card in China, GDB has accumulated extensive data and already built a comprehensive customer database within the industry. By applying multi-dimensional analysis and mathematical models on its customers' consumption characteristics and behavioural patterns, GDB gained useful insights and achieved its objective to optimise customer management.
The adoption of Probe SM, Experian's strategy management system further enhances GDB's capability to fully utilise its customer data and information assets, deploy scorecards more flexibly and design data-driven customer segmentation strategies using powerful processing functionalities. As a result, GDB will be able to better identify credit risks, refine its customer management strategies while enhancing operational efficiencies and business profitability.
In addition, Experian's Portfolio Reporting Studio will also provide GDB's management and business teams with a reporting service to track, evaluate and optimise its customer scoring and management strategies.
Lin Deming, General Manager of Guangdong Development Bank Credit Card Center. Said: "Since the launch of its first credit card in China in 1995, GDB has always been taking the lead in research and development of new products, customer service and risk management. Under the current domestic credit card market, GDB Card's core competencies are reflected in its unrelenting product innovations and its personalised customer service – which are attributed to GDB Card's efficient automated back-end system and in-depth quantitative analysis of its customers' consumption behaviour. Experian's strategy management system, Probe SM, will provide a robust platform for GDB to better refine customer segmentation, automate customer management, and implement a large number of mathematical scoring models."
Ken Sansom, President of Experian Asia Pacific, said: "We look forward to working closely with GDB. As a trusted provider of data, software and analytics to financial institutions, our global expertise and local client experience will help GDB to optimise its credit risk management strategies, maximise profitability of its credit card business, and enhance its service quality and customer satisfaction."
