In the first-ever Grid for Marketing Automation, HubSpot, Marketo, Eloqua, and Pardot (an ExactTarget company recently acquired by Salesforce.com) all earned Leader status based on achieving high customer satisfaction ratings and substantial scale scores. Several vendors earned High Performer status by achieving high customer satisfaction, but do not yet have the market share and global scale of the Leaders. The High Performers are Act-On, CallidusCloud's LeadFormix, SalesFUSION, and Genoo.
The Grid charts marketing automation software by scale and satisfaction to help professionals find platforms that best match the specific needs, size, and budget of their organization. Satisfaction rankings are generated from the 71-question user reviews, and scale is calculated from vendor size, market share, and social impact. Based on a combination of these scores, each software solution is categorized as a Leader, High Performer, Contender, or Laggard.
Because the Grid is driven by modern technology employing social and big data, it is geared to keep up with the rapidly changing technology landscape without missing disruptive technologies.
"A lot of corporations have had to rely on software reviews generated by a lone analyst who has never used the product in a work environment. Technology is continually changing. HubSpot, the Grid's leader in customer satisfaction, isn't even included in Gartner's Magic Quadrant," said Godard Abel, cofounder of G2 Crowd. "Now, marketing professionals can access sophisticated reviews that are generated continually by peers who are verified on LinkedIn. Software evolves quickly, and enterprise software is a big investment. We make sure subscribers can consult the most up-to-date, reliable, and valuable information available for this decision process."
Updated quarterly, the Grid lets users compare products by overall reviews and by specific functions. For instance, the Grid can show which product offers the best reporting and analytics features or top customer support. Subscribers also receive the original data in spreadsheet form, enabling them to identify the best-fit system using filters and weightings. Individual profiles of each software platform show Grid subscribers the most helpful positive and negative reviews, detailed company information, user satisfaction ratings, feature scores and even customer metrics. Everything from average organization sizes and implementation approaches to average discount from list price, contract terms, and ROI are available to subscribers.
Overall, the Grid gives subscribers reliable crowdsourced data for comparing marketing automation software along with intelligence that can give organizations a distinct advantage in the sales and implementation process.
