GREENZYS characters step out of the book and into kids' lives as plush toys by Kids Preferred. Featured characters include Peat the Penguin, an ardent supporter of recycling, reusing and reducing waste; Yew Yew the Panda, who grows bamboo to prevent erosion and create oxygen; Willow the Elephant, who collects rainwater for her plants and uses her trunk as a water hose; and Violet the Giraffe, the ecological genius who teaches the GREENZYS how to reduce their carbon paw print in an effort to protect the environment. Ensuring that this toy line reinforces environmental responsibility, the plush toys are made from soy fibers and non-toxic dyes with packaging made from recycled paperboard. The book is made with FSC/SFI/PEFC certified paper and board with soy based inks and is printed in the United States, which also reduces the carbon footprint. The author is acclaimed children's writer Danielle Mentzer, and the illustrations are from the award winning artist Cris De Lara.
GREENZYS actively engage children in environmental preservation. For every toy purchased, a tree is planted by the Arbor Day Foundation. Speaking to today's digital savvy children, the purchase of a GREENZYS plush allows them to personalize a printable digital certificate documenting the planting of a tree online at www.greenzys.com. A portion from every GREENZYS product purchased also benefits the Environmental Media Association whose supporters have included Maroon 5, Amy Smart, Cameron Diaz, Daryl Hannah, Ed Begley Jr., Nicole Richie, Ted Turner, Blythe Danner and numerous other celebrity/corporate environmentalists.
All GREENZYS products are manufactured in an eco friendly manner.
