Greenway Announces Meaningful Use Training for PrimeSuite EHR Customers
Hands-on Tutorials to Guide Physician Practices in Achieving Meaningful Use EHR Incentive Funds
CARROLLTON, Ga., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc. today announced that the first round of the company's Meaningful Use customer training sessions are set to begin. Customers of the Greenway® PrimeSuite® solution, which integrates electronic health record (EHR), practice management and interoperability functions, will be able to take advantage of a series of two-day seminars held around the country designed to assist them in maximizing the benefits and incentives of EHR Meaningful Use.
"It is one thing for physicians and administrators to have access to Meaningful Use capabilities," said Justin Barnes, vice president of Marketing, Corporate Development and Government Affairs at Greenway and chairman emeritus of the Electronic Health Record Association, "but it is quite another for them to quickly and easily incorporate Meaningful Use functionality and reporting into their day-to-day workflow. As the recognized leader in EHR customer satisfaction, Greenway has developed these Meaningful Use training sessions to enable our customers to do just that."
Greenway's Meaningful Use training sessions will offer PrimeSuite customers one-on-one guidance and a "deep-dive" into physician and care-provider workflow sessions designed to identify opportunities to meet specific Meaningful Use requirements. The sessions will also familiarize Greenway customers with PrimeSuite's breakthrough Meaningful Use Dashboard, which allows them to access and track Meaningful Use compliance on a daily basis.
Building upon educational sessions that began at Greenway's annual PrimeLeader customer conference in August, the first regional Meaningful Use training session will be held in Atlanta, Ga. in December, followed by sessions held in Washington, D.C. in January and Orlando, Fla. in February. Additional training sessions will be held across the country throughout the coming year.
To qualify for up to $44,000 in Medicare incentives per eligible professional (EP), practices are required to submit Meaningful Use functionality data for only a single period of 90 consecutive days within their first reporting year. In the Medicaid pathway, where incentives can reach $63,750 per EP, practices can capture the maximum year-one incentives by adopting, implementing or upgrading to a certified EHR, followed by meeting the 90-consecutive-day reporting requirement in year two.
"The training sessions will ensure that our customers pursuing EHR Meaningful Use incentives will not only be trained on the currently required functionality, but will also establish within their practices a foundation for future incentive stages and related quality reporting programs – all toward providing the most advanced care possible," said Eric Grunden, Greenway vice president of Client Services. "With this regional and national approach, Greenway will also provide customized training based on menu-set criteria that fit their needs in conjunction with local and state criteria focused on public health reporting, unique patient populations or however their individual practice needs dictate."
In addition, physicians, practice administrators and others interested in pursuing Meaningful Use can attend a series of webinars on the subject. Conducted by Greenway on a regular basis, the webinars feature Justin Barnes' explanation of key insights on the current state and future of healthcare, updates and timelines of the EHR Meaningful Use stimulus incentives as well as how to achieve EHR Meaningful Use as simply as possible.
Greenway's next Meaningful Use webinar is scheduled for October 13. Details on registration and presentation examples can be found at http://www.greenwaymedical.com/news/web-events/.
