Come test the "Big Shaker" 8.0 earthquake simulator and learn how to get on the Road to Ready become more prepared with AAA Northern California & Utah. Media are invited to experience the simulator and capture footage of an employee drill where AAA team members will practice dropping, covering, and holding on in the event of an earthquake.

Mayor Ed Lee will drop, cover and hold on with Bret Harte Elementary students during the Great California ShakeOut. Lee will also be talking about the importance of having an earthquake plan prepared at home with their families. Each year, SFUSD teams up with the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management to practice a drill districtwide. This year, San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White, Police Chief Toney Chaplin, and SF Board of Education will be on hand to practice as well. San Francisco's public school students have been taking part in this statewide emergency exercise since it began in 2008.
