Grand Circle Foundation Announces New People-to-People Program to Cuba for 2016
BOSTON, Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Circle Foundation will introduce "Cuba Revealed: Cultural Pathways from Camaguey to Havana"—a new People-to-People program for 2016, announced Grand Circle Foundation's Harriet R. Lewis today. The 13-day program begins at $4995 and explores Camaguey, Remedios, Matanzas, and Havana. The itinerary is the second People-to-People program that Grand Circle Foundation will offer to Cuba next year.
"With the opening of relations between the U.S. and Cuba, there's obviously great interest in travel to Cuba now, especially among older Americans who grew up during the Fidel Castro era," said Lewis. "More than 5400 Americans have traveled to Cuba with us since we introduced our first People-to-People Program in November 2011. We are excited about our new itinerary and hope that it will encourage even more Americans to experience Cuba and engage with its wonderful, welcoming people and culture."
Grand Circle Foundation's new 13-day journey will reveal the sweep of Cuba's scenic landscapes, colonial charm, and cultural diversity. Travelers will witness the winding lanes of colonial gem Camaguey, the magic of Spanish-influenced Remedios—and the electricity of Havana, a vibrant city with a revolutionary past and a bright future. They will also immerse themselves in Cuban culture during stops at schools, homes, farms, and artist workshops—while dining in family-run paladares and casas particulares. To foster engagement, each departure is limited to just 12-20 travelers.
