Governor Rendell Orders Flags at Capitol and in Berks County to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Staff Sgt. Sean M. Flannery
HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 24, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Edward G. Rendell today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Berks County to be flown at half-staff in honor of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Sean M. Flannery, of Wyomissing.
Staff Sgt. Flannery, 29, was one of two soldiers killed Nov. 22 by an improvised explosive device, or IED, attack in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Flags will remain at half-staff through interment.
