Governor Corbett Signs Four Bills into Law
HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett signed into law the following legislation on Nov. 9:
House Bill 1459 – The bill amends the Act of June 23, 1931 (P.L. 932, No. 317) known as the Third Class City Code, to further provide clarification for promotion procedures for Civil Service employees.
House Bill 1460 – The bill amends the Act of June 24, 1931 (P.L. 1206, No. 331) known as the First Class Township Code, to further provide that a background investigation of an applicant for examination for an original position in the police force or fire department may be restricted to those candidates on an eligibility list or those certified to the township commissioners for appointment.
Senate Bill 200 – The bill establishes standards for managing concussions and traumatic brain injuries to student athletes.
Senate Bill 566 – The bill designates the bridge carrying the C. Vance DeiCas Memorial Highway (State Route 1077) over the Monongahela River in Washington and Westmoreland counties as the "Stan the Man" Musial Bridge.
