Governor Corbett Orders Flags at Capitol Complex and in Lebanon County to Fly at Half-Staff on July 30 in Honor of Sgt. Edward Koehler
HARRISBURG, Pa., July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Lebanon County to fly at half-staff on Saturday, July 30 in honor of Sgt. Edward Koehler, of Lebanon.
Koehler, 47, was one of three Pennsylvania Army National Guard members killed on July 18 when an improvised explosive device detonated on their convoy outside of Bagram, Afghanistan. The other men killed were Sgt. Brian Mowery, 49, of Halifax, and Staff Sgt. Kenneth VanGiesen, 30, of Kane.
Sgt. Koehler's funeral will be held Saturday in Georgia.
