Governor Corbett Names Mark Zimmer as Chairman of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency
HARRISBURG, Pa. March 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett has named Mark Zimmer as chairman of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, or PCCD.
Zimmer, an attorney in private practice in Honesdale, Wayne County, served as a member of the commission from 2000 to 2003.
"I am honored and humbled that Governor Corbett reached out to me to serve as chairman of PCCD," Zimmer said. "I am delighted to work again with PCCD and assist in its efforts to advance justice in the criminal and juvenile systems."
Zimmer was the district attorney for Wayne County from 1992 to 2003. He also served as president of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association and was chairman of its Megan's Law and Child Abuse Coalition committees. Zimmer was appointed to the Governor's Community Partnership for Safe Children in 1999 and to the Joint State Government Commission's Advisory Committee on Services to Children and Youth in 2000.
As PCCD's chairman, Zimmer will serve in a volunteer capacity and will not draw a state salary.
