Governor Corbett Issues Flag Orders to Honor Fallen Franklin County Soldier, Observe Memorial Day
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today issued flag orders for May 28 and 30.
On Saturday, May 28, U.S. and state flags should be lowered to half-staff at the Capitol Complex and state facilities in Franklin County in honor of U.S. Army Master Sgt. Benjamin Bitner, 37, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on April 23. A memorial service will be held in Greencastle, Bitner's hometown, on May 28.
On Monday, May 30, U.S. and state flags should be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until noon at state government facilities across Pennsylvania in observance of Memorial Day.
