Governor Corbett Issues Flag Order to Honor Fallen Army Captain
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 1, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Lehigh County to fly at half-staff on Wednesday, May 2 to honor U.S. Army Capt. Charles R. Barnes, a native of Lehigh County.
Capt. Barnes was listed as missing in action after contact was lost with his aircraft in Vietnam on March 16, 1969. The U.S. Department of Defense recently announced that his remains had been identified.
Capt. Barnes will be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on May 2.
All Pennsylvanians are invited to join in this tribute.
