Governor Corbett Announces Nominations to Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission
HARRISBURG, Pa., May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Governor Tom Corbett today announced he has nominated the following individuals to serve on the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, or PHMC:
- John A. Barbour, Mars
- Karen Dougherty Buchholz, Flourtown
- First Lady Susan Corbett, Harrisburg
- William V. Lewis Jr., Pittston
- Andrew E. Masich, Pittsburgh
- Ann Moran, Lewisburg
- Jean Craige Pepper, Erie
- Fredrick C. Powell, Mechanicsburg
- Richard M. Sand, Laverock
The nominations require confirmation by the Pennsylvania Senate.
Created in 1945, the nine-member PHMC is the official history agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is responsible for the collection, conservation, and interpretation of Pennsylvania's historic heritage, which it accomplishes through the Pennsylvania State Archives, the State Museum of Pennsylvania, the Bureau of Historic Sites and Museums, the Pennsylvania Trails of History, the Bureau for Historic Preservation, and the Bureau of Management Services.
