Google Apps Resellers and Google Marketplace Vendors Gather in Silicon Valley
Google Apps resellers and Google Apps ISVs from the Google Apps marketplace will meet in Sunnyvale, California November 12-13 2012 for the second annual gSocial 2.0 event.
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Google Apps ecosystem is maturing and so are many of the start-ups that surrounded its inception. Over the last few years, many Google Apps-based entrepreneurs have grown their companies from one man operations to staffs of up to 20 employees, some even larger. As time passed, it became prevalent that there needed to be some sort of meeting of the minds, a think tank for the cloud cult.
"Many of us have been active in the marketplace for several years now, but I hadn't met any of them in person until gSocial last year," says Allen Falcon, one of the organizers of the event, and CEO of Cumulus Global.
Falcon's story isn't unique. Many of these Google Apps based businesses were isolated from one another for some time. For many, it just wasn't cost effective to make trips all around the world. Daniel Stevenson, a gSocial organizer and VP of Partnerships and Alliances at Backupify, a long time Google ISV says, "It would cost me several thousand dollars in airfare, hotel, and food to go and visit each and every reseller in the ecosystem. Instead I can meet them all in one place, saving me time and money."
The gSocial was created by and for Google Apps Resellers and ISVs to help create a fertile foundation for long-lasting business relationships in the Google Apps environment. "Our industry desperately needed a melting pot like this. I made some truly fantastic connections that have proven invaluable to my business in the last year," says Crisantos Hajibrahim, a gSocial organizer as well as founder and CEO of ViWO, Google Apps SMB Reseller in North America.
On November 12th, the second annual gSocial will kick off with a cocktail reception for all attendees. The next day, a select group of speakers have been chosen to speak on relevant issues to the cloudsphere. Early headcounts anticipate almost double the attendance from the 100 that made the trek last year. It should be noted that gSocial is not an official Google event, but is open to all Google employees and other registered members of the Google Apps industry. There will be no press representation at the event.
It's becoming abundantly clear that gSocial is growing in both attendance and scope. This event is a must for members of the Google Apps industry. Prospective attendees should act fast. November 12th is approaching quickly.
