Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake to Host Job and Resource Fair for West Baltimore Community
Through United Way grant, Goodwill helps those in need
BALTIMORE, Nov. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake will host a job and resource fair this Monday, November 9th from 11 am to 1:30 pm at the Delta Community Center.
Goodwill is hosting the career fair to help local residents find employment, especially those who have been impacted by the unrest in West Baltimore. The job and resource fair is funded by the United Way of Central Maryland's Maryland Unites Fund grant program. The grant will help Goodwill connect individuals in the 21215, 21216 and 21217 zip codes with services they need and employment opportunities from various agencies.
Employers scheduled to attend include: Manpower, Johns Hopkins Career Services, Randstad, Essendant, Maryland Live Casino, Goodwill Staffing Services, Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, Baltimore City Fire Department, Rite Aid, Maryland Natural Resource Police, DC Police Department and New York Life Insurance. Community resource vendors scheduled to attend include: America Works, Vein Restoration, Year Up Baltimore, Waverly Early Head Start Center of Goodwill, Center for Urban Families, Mental Health Association, Jane Addams Resource Corporation, Women Accepting Responsibility, North American Trade School, Baltimore City Department of Social Services, Bon Secours Mental Health & Homeless Services, Maryland Food Bank, Chiropractic Care, STEP, Legal Shield, DLLR and Park West Health Systems.
The event will also feature a Dress for Success Breakout Sessions for women and men, presented by, Dress for Success, Paul's Place and Christopher Schafer Clothier; Interviewing Tools and Techniques, presented by Baltimore Career Center at Eutaw Street; and Employer Expectations, presented by Baltimore Marriott Waterfront.
