Go-Kiddo Debuts Electric Cambering 3-Wheeler at New York Toy Fair
New "Colt" is Go-Kiddo's top offering, marrying fun, fitness and mobility in one super cool scooter design
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Feb. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Go-Kiddo is debuting its new line of ride-on toys at the New York International Toy Fair (Booth # 4411, Level 1), leading its new line with the electric "Colt" – a unique, three-wheel, cambering (i.e. leaning) scooter. The Colt offers mobility, fitness and fun in one thrilling platform. Using the same 3-wheeled, cambering technology of the Trikke fitness vehicles by Trikke Tech (Go-Kiddo's parent company), the Colt can be propelled by carving ski-like turns for miles, and/or accelerated up to 13 mph with a twist of the throttle. The ease of use equates to instant fun, and the stability of the ride makes it easy for everyone.

The Colt is ridden in a forward-facing, standing position, and its patented cambering system allows the rider and frame to lean deeply into turns, while keeping all three wheels on the pavement. It is inherently more stable than two wheel scooters and bikes, but its proprietary cambering design is what really makes the ride a blast and allows for its unique body-propulsion technique. Without the motor, forward propulsion is accomplished through linking ski-like turns and engages the entire body – twisting, shifting your weight from one foot to another and punching the handlebars. And when using the electric motor for propulsion, if you carve ski-like turns as you go, you continue to get a skier's workout. The ride truly delivers the feeling of skiing, but is even more maneuverable and agile because you can quickly hit the brakes to slow down and easily weave through obstacles.
"The user-friendliness of the Colt is amazing. You'll see parents and kids of all ages sharing this vehicle. And when they ride, they will be carving these beautiful turns - smiling or laughing." Says John Simpson, President of Go-Kiddo. "With the Colt, we've taken the best of the Trikke technology user experience and brought it down to an affordable price. Everyone is going to want one of these."
The average rider will get at least 45 minutes of pure fun per battery charge, and the quick-swap battery system (a unique feature not usually found in kids' electric scooters) allows riders to extend the fun in seconds if they have a spare. The standing position also makes the rider taller and more visible to others, and thus safer. The vehicle's battery case includes a built-in, bag-holding design (for carrying shopping bags or backpacks), and the vehicle can be quickly folded down for transport or storage. The frame is made of durable steel alloy and the motor is a 250Watt/24 Volt. Spare batteries and lithium battery upgrades are also available. The Colt MSRP is $599.
