MURRAY HILL, N.J., Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Glowpoint, Inc. (OTCBB: GLOW), a leading global provider of cloud managed video services, today announced general availability of two new cost effective, flexible managed service offerings delivered from the OpenVideo™ cloud, Notify Remote Monitoring and Express Remote Monitoring & Support.
Notify Remote Monitoring is the next generation of the Notify monitoring service Glowpoint announced nearly a year ago. It is a cost effective, 24 x 7 automated monitoring service that provides real time alarm notifications when telepresence rooms or video infrastructure are experiencing performance issues, or go off-line. The service actively monitors all Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) enabled devices with an IP address, and provides real time notifications when issues arise. Customers can also access summary status reports on all rooms or video infrastructure being monitored, including a history of issues associated with a particular device.
"Our next generation Notify Remote Monitoring service allows IT organizations to purchase a self use service for managing video on-premise to respond to issues rapidly, to get their mission critical video back on line and achieve a higher level of service," said Anil Balani, Senior Vice President of Product Development for Glowpoint.
Customers who require more than basic remote monitoring can choose the new Express Remote Monitoring & Support package, also launched for general availability today.
In addition to 24 x 7 automated remote monitoring, Express Remote Monitoring & Support offers end-user helpdesk support services, to offload IT organizations as end-user support calls increase. Express also offers flexible 'incident support packs' that include a complete set of incident resolution services to diagnose and resolve incidents, and bring video conferencing systems or infrastructure back on-line for the customer.
"Express Remote Monitoring & Support offers IT teams the option of completely offloading management of video as support needs increase," added Balani. "Customers can take full advantage of the capabilities of our Video Network Operation Center (VNOC) and OpenVideo™ cloud as they need to, while using their available resources to focus on other projects."
Glowpoint delivers managed video services via its OpenVideo™ cloud architecture of video management technologies and intellectual property that enable seamless and secure video collaboration across disparate networks, video endpoint technologies, and signaling protocols. This enables the company to offer cloud managed services for the widest range of video systems, including solutions from Cisco, Polycom and Lifesize, while providing video bridging services to connect different immersive systems.
"In today's market, it is important for managed service providers to have flexible offerings and be able to support a mixed environment of video solutions, all the way down to the desktop," said Roopam Jain, Industry Director at Frost & Sullivan, a leading global growth consulting firm. "Glowpoint is in a good position to deliver on this with the OpenVideo™ cloud, and with their new Notify and Express offerings."
Glowpoint also offers complete cloud managed remote monitoring and management services packages that offload day-to-day video management with a guaranteed level of service. The Select Remote Management package includes remote monitoring and management of telepresence rooms and infrastructure, including complete incident resolution services and custom on demand reporting via a web portal. The company's Premium Remote Management package includes all of the services included with the Select package, but provides unlimited video bridging services that include conference scheduling and optional concierge services.
"Today's launch is in response to demand for more self use tools in the cloud for the enterprise IT communities. With the introduction of the Notify and Express services, Glowpoint has the most complete, flexible portfolio of remote monitoring and management services available from any video managed services provider today," said Darren Podrabsky, Vice President of Marketing and Channels for Glowpoint." These new offerings allow us to address a wider variety of customer and partner community needs, to ensure customers realize the full value of their investment in visual communication."
The Notify Remote Monitoring and Express Remote Monitoring & Support packages are available today directly from Glowpoint and through qualified channel partners.
