Global Automakers Announces New VP of Vehicle Safety and Connected Automation
WASHINGTON, May 15, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Auto industry veteran Steve Gehring has joined the Association of Global Automakers (Global Automakers) as its Vice President of Vehicle Safety and Connected Automation. Under this newly created position, Gehring will lead the Association's efforts on auto safety, connected and self-driving vehicle policies.

With over 25 years of experience in various engineering and management positions at "intelligent" transportation organizations and major carmakers, Gehring comes to Global Automakers after serving as Director of Public Policy for Vehicle Safety at General Motors. Gehring has a strong track record working on both traditional historical areas of auto safety and with emerging new safety technologies.

Gehring holds a B.S. from Kettering University and a M.S. from the University of Michigan. He lives in Maryland with his family and serves on Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) national board of directors.
