Glencoe Software's PathViewer™ Digital Pathology Solution Easily Handles Multiplexed Imaging Data
The new PathViewer 2.0 gives cancer pathology researchers deeper insight into complex sets of data enabling groundbreaking research.
SEATTLE, Aug. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognizing a need for better data visualization of multiplexed images in digital pathology, Glencoe Software, the innovative supplier of image data management solutions for biotech, pharma and publication industries, has released PathViewer 2.0.
This PathViewer release features several enhancements and improvements, but the most exciting is the new Channel Manager tool. Before this capability was available, research pathologists struggled with exploring and visualizing data from multiplexed images or images with a high number of channels.
PathViewer 2.0 and its Channel Manager tool readily handles the data from these images and allows the user to easily switch and overlay any number of channels. It vastly increases the probes and pathways researchers can view and understand using multiplexed imaging.
"This innovation makes multiplexed data visualization in PathViewer much more complete," said Glencoe Software CEO Jason Swedlow. "With the digital pathology community constantly searching for more meaningful ways to explore data, we felt the growing need for a solution for multiplexed imaging was the next step in PathViewer's evolution."
PathViewer 2.0 continues to support standard digital pathology workflows and data formats making the visualization, annotation, sharing and management of digital pathology images easy and straightforward.
PathViewer 2.0 has been put through its paces by colleagues around the world. Recently, Glencoe Software hosted a webinar (http://www.glencoesoftware.com/webinars.html#pathviewer-multiplexed-imaging) featuring a case study using Cyclic Immunofluorescence (CycIF). This method enables single-cell resolution imaging of 50 or more biomarkers in the same sample. Correlations and connections in multiplexed digital pathology imaging are now easy to understand and share with colleagues-- regardless of data format or location. These innovations are made possible by PathViewer 2.0.
Glencoe launched PathViewer in 2015. The software is being used by academic labs performing basic research and discovery and several biotech and pharmaceutical companies working on the next generation of drug development.
