Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania Announces New Personnel, Elections to Its Board of Directors
Marcy Rost named Chief Operating Officer and Melanie Doll named Program Director; 10 Members-at-Large and three Girl Advisors elected to Board
MIQUON, Pa., May 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) has announced two personnel changes:

- Marcy Rost was named Chief Operating Officer, with oversight responsibility for all aspects of program development for girls, volunteer training and support, and member recruitment and retention. She has been a consultant to GSEP since 2008 and is a former Chief Operating Officer for Foundations, Inc. Rost also held executive roles at ACS State and Local Solutions; the Delaware River Port Authority of Pennsylvania and New Jersey; and PennPORTS, Office of Pennsylvania Governor Robert P. Casey.
- Melanie Doll was named Program Director, with oversight responsibility for all resident and day camps, and the development and evaluation of comprehensive program services for the Council. In 2006, Doll became a Program Manager for Girl Scouts Great Valley Council, one of GSEP’s three legacy councils.
GSEP elected two new Members-at-Large to its Board of Directors: Cheryl Lynn Horsey, Vice President of Student Services at Gwynedd-Mercy College; and Carolyn Jones, Senior Manager of Diversity and Inclusion at Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
GSEP also re-elected eight Members-at-Large:
- Angela Ahmad, Manager of New Business Services in the Philadelphia Region for PECO
- Michael Cox, Director of The Cora L. Brooks Foundation and The Priscilla Payne Hurd Foundation
- Pamela DeCampli, Vice President for Kirby Bates Associates
- Ann Donley, CPA, Founder and Principal of Profit Maximizers, Inc. and co-owner of Day Care Plus, Inc.
- M. Shawn Puccio, Chief Financial Officer at Saint-Gobain Corporation
- Dianne Rotwitt, a past international advisor at Rosemont College and the University of Pennsylvania’s Office of International Programs
- Judith Schwank, Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at Delaware Valley College
- Karen Walters, Senior Director in the Office of the President at Independence Blue Cross
Elected as members of the Board’s Nominating Committee are long-time Girl Scout and past-Council President Ruth Kravitz; Rita Lee, a Clinical Education and Senior Learning Developer at AstraZeneca; Marcia Martinez-Helfman, President of Zia Business Partners; Dianne Rotwitt; and Ramona Turbin, a past community relations executive in the banking industry.
The current Officers of GSEP’s Board of Directors are: Ann Thornton Field, Esq., Chair; Deb Walters, First Vice Chair; Catherine A. Pullen, Vice Chair; Stacy Broad, Secretary; and Donna-Marie Daday, Treasurer.
GSEP is one of the few Girl Scout councils in the nation that elects Girl Advisors to its Board as non-voting members. They are: Alicia Barry, Marybeth O’Connor and Bernadette Schwarz. All girls are entering their senior years in high school.

It is the largest girl-serving organization in Pennsylvania, with more than 42,000 girl and 14,000 adult volunteer members in Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties. Approximately 80 percent of the nation’s women in leadership and executive roles and 70 percent of U.S. Congresswomen are Girl Scout alumnae.
