Gilt Groupe Names David Zucker as Chief Marketing Officer
NEW YORK, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Gilt Groupe, Inc. today announced that David Zucker has been named Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Zucker reports directly to Kevin Ryan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. As the Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Zucker will be responsible for the company's generation of demand across all channels, creative direction, overall brand position, research and analytics. Mr. Zucker succeeds Carl Sparks, who assumed the President position.
Mr. Zucker joined Gilt in November 2009 as the Vice President of Customer Marketing. In that role he built the company's demand generation, analytics, research, and CRM capabilities. In a short time he was able to double Gilt's membership base. In addition, he has architected a process and analytical approaches that will enable Gilt marketing campaigns to truly be different for each member resulting in relevant experiences for them, focused messaging for brand partners and at highly scalable returns for the business.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Zucker was the Global Director of Customer Relationship Management & Implementation at Dell Inc, where he led Dell's CRM and analytics efforts in the Business-to-Consumer (B2C), Small-Medium Business (SMB), enterprise, and public sectors. Before Dell, Mr. Zucker was the Vice President of CRM at Home Shopping Network (HSN). He joined HSN from Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia where he was AVP of Marketing, Analytics, and Internet Operations. Mr. Zucker also held a senior position at Priceline.com. Mr. Zucker holds a PhD in Economics and served as an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida and Rutgers University.
