SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Gigamon Inc. (NYSE: GIMO), the industry leader in network traffic visibility solutions, announced today that the Gigamon Visibility Platform for Amazon Web Services (AWS) is now available in the AWS GovCloud U.S. Region. Public sector organizations can gain deeper and more pervasive visibility to manage, secure and understand sensitive data and regulated workloads running in AWS, enabling compliance with stringent, federal operational requirements.
AWS GovCloud is a specific region of the AWS Cloud designed for U.S. government organizations hosting proprietary data, such as sensitive patient records, financial data, personally identifiable information (PII) and other controlled unclassified information (CUI). Organizations aiming to benefit from cloud adoption require an independent public cloud environment that is not only scalable and elastic, but also complies with stringent regulatory and compliance requirements, such as The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Today's announcement builds upon the company's recent achievement of Public Sector Partner status with AWS, and the launch of first-to-market solution to deliver visibility in the AWS Cloud. Gigamon empowers private sector and state and local government and education (SLED) organizations with increased visibility into AWS while meeting strict security, compliance and regulatory standards.
Over 50 federal organizations in the Department of Defense, intelligence community and civilian agencies, as well as dozens of SLED entities, adopt Gigamon Visibility Platform into their security infrastructures to achieve deeper visibility into their network traffic and gain increased control and efficacy from their security tools.
"Gigamon Visibility for AWS GovCloud breaks down the barriers to cloud adoption by enabling public sector organizations to strengthen their cybersecurity posture across physical, virtual and cloud environments," said Dennis Reilly, Vice President of Public Sector at Gigamon. "Visibility is key to understanding their data in motion and gaining better control, while enabling security tools to increase their effectiveness against cyber attacks."
