WASHINGTON, Nov. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA), the certifying body and professional association for management consultants and management consulting firms whose Certified Management Consultant® has earned the prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ISO/IEC 17024-2003 accreditation, today announced a formal alliance with Georgia State University (GSU) J. As the undisputed leader in the field, the mission of IMC USA is to promote excellence and ethics in management consulting through certification, education and professional resources. The new alliance with GSU is in lockstep with that mission. IMC USA and GSU will develop the certificate program in accordance with the standards and best practices established by the IMC, and GSU will be the only institute of higher education in Georgia to offer it in the immediate future. As part of the agreement, GSU will also establish an IMC USA student chapter that will provide GSU students with networking and potential internship opportunities.
"We are very excited and proud to be partnering with IMC in the design and delivery of the Certificate in Management Consulting program that will help those interested in pursuing a Certified Management Consultant® (CMC®) designation. The CMC® fits perfectly into our strategy and vision of being a world-class university providing high-impact and innovative certification programs in key business disciplines," said Dan Stotz, Senior Director of Executive Education, Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University.
Located in Atlanta, GSU is the largest business school in the South and part of a major research institution, the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. It has programs on four continents and students from 150 countries. The College has 200 faculty, 7,400 students and 65,000 alumni; its part-time MBA program is currently ranked number five in the nation, and has been in the Top 10 for 13 consecutive years. Adding an IMC-associated Certificate Program in Management Consulting demonstrates GSU's commitment to developing professionals that adhere to the highest standards for excellence and ethical behavior among consultants, and business leaders in general.
"Strong academic programs like the one starting at GSU are a vital part of IMC USA. This program will provide an effective conduit to the management consulting profession. That conduit, facilitated through the Certificate in Management Consulting that we are starting at GSU, is of benefit to the profession, to GSU students, to those who buy consulting services and to IMC USA," stated David Norman CMC® chairman of IMC USA.
