GDS International Announces an Unprecedented Delegation to Attend June's Next Generation Telecoms Summit in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
GDS International today announced it will host its seventh Next Generation Telecoms US Summit on 3rd - 5th June 2013 at The Island Hotel; Newport Beach, California.
The renowned event series - which takes place over two and a half days - boasts 65 senior level telecoms executives from across North America engaging in peer-led panel discussions, content-rich workshops and thought-provoking keynote speaker presentations.
This year's event will focus on a range of exciting topics, including Software Defined Networking (SDN) and network function virtualization; the integration of small cell / Wi-Fi offload; and coping with the Over-The-Top content explosion. Delegates will also be looking at broader issues, including key consideration in deploying LTE networks, telecom renovation and technology innovation and 'the cloud era.'
Attending the NG Telecoms US Summit this year will be: Lloyd Switzer, SVP Network Transformation for Telus; Tom Sawanobori, VP Network & Technology for Verizon Wireless; Russ Maguire, VP Strategy for Sprint; Andrew Macaulay, CIO for Clearwire; and Brian Riley, VP Technology for Frontier; with additional support from vendor partners Oracle, Battery Corp, EMC, Lemko, Comverse, Teoco, Tech Mahindra, PeerApp and Empirix.
Chris Martin, CEO of Glen Martin - a Missouri-based infrastructure development company - said: "Carriers must begin to foster new competition in order to bring down prices, spur innovation and decrease time-to-market for LTE deployment."
Peter Horton, Next Generation Telecoms US Summit Director for GDS International, the global events company behind the Summit, said: "The North American telecoms industry is starting a new era, under the theme of digital revolution and unprecedented industry transformation. Mobile data traffic volumes are due to increase tenfold, spurred on by cloud based applications, low latency and high speed LTE as well as the OTT content explosion."
He continues: "With this in mind, the NG Telecoms US summit will once again serve as a unique forum for senior executives to engage in clear and focused dialogue with peers and examine their management objectives in a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere."
