Gateway Energy Announces Statewide Expansion and Savings for NJ Residents and Businesses

MONTEBELLO, N.Y., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Residents and businesses throughout New Jersey now have the opportunity to manage their electricity and natural gas costs by selecting Gateway Energy Services as their alternative supplier through the New Jersey Energy Choice Program.

Gateway Energy is the only independent retail energy supplier offering both residents and businesses, statewide, an option to purchase natural gas and electricity supply from a source other than their utility, according to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities' Web site.

Leveraging the benefits of competition through energy deregulation, Gateway is offering its N.J. residential customers savings of about 10% on their electricity supply for the remainder of 2010, compared to the rates, effective or proposed, of the New Jersey electric utilities (Rockland Electric, PSE&G, JCP&L and Atlantic City Electric.) Savings during the summer months will be even higher since all four utilities' rates increase in the summer, June 1 through September 30.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, New Jersey residents spend more than $4.5 billion on electricity and $3.3 billion on natural gas every year.
