"Shunra has built a trusted reputation within the application performance intelligence community, and today counts 65 of the Fortune 100, and 1500 companies worldwide as customers. On behalf of Shunra's board of directors and investors, I'm delighted to welcome Gary Jackson aboard at Shunra," said Jeff Horing, Managing Director of Insight Venture Partners. "We're confident that his tremendous experience and track record of success will help further establish Shunra as the leader in providing application performance intelligence solutions to IT professionals globally.
Gary Jackson has led a series of successful software companies. Most recently, as CEO of Ounce Labs, Gary modernized the go-to-market strategy, implemented an innovative channels program, and dramatically simplified the product, licensing and distribution model. The repositioned company produced results that attracted the attention of several potential acquirers and a successful acquisition by IBM in less than 12 months.
"Shunra Software is entering its next era of growth. The company has accomplished a great deal in a tough economy, due to its superior technology, strong employee base, and ability to save enterprise IT teams money," Jackson said. "In the coming months I will be working with our team to expand Shunra's market reach so more organizations can avoid performance errors or failures when deploying applications on the network, consolidating servers, moving data centers, or launching new mobile, VoIP or video over IP applications."
Prior to Ounce Labs, Gary was the Chief Operating Officer at Quova, Inc., where he played a key role in growing the company from inception to profitability. Earlier in his career, Jackson was president of Ozro, a pioneer in on-line contract negotiation, which has become a standard in enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, as well as Senior Vice President (and 11th employee) of Vantive, one of the early leaders in the customer relationship management (CRM) market.
