Gaming Control Board Releases February Table Games Revenue

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The play of table games during February at Pennsylvania casinos generated tax revenue of more than $9 million, the highest amount recorded since the inception of table games in July 2010, according to figures posted today on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov.

With an average of 977 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis during February, gross revenue from the play of all table games was $56,556,939. That amount was $12.9 million higher than in February 2011 when revenue totaled $43,626,464 with an average of 842 tables operating on a daily basis. That is a 29.6% increase in revenue year over year.

Pennsylvania taxes gross table games revenue at 16% (14% to the Commonwealth's General Fund and 2% to local share fund) which resulted in $9,186,282 of tax revenue.
