GameTrailers' Expert Editorial Staff Honors Exceptional Games In 29 Categories
2K Games Leads Awards With Multiple Honors For "BioShock Infinite"
LOS ANGELES, June 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GameTrailers.com, the premier video destination for gaming entertainment and information, has announced the winners of its "Best of E3 2011 Awards." Celebrating the accomplishments of the industry at the annual video game conference and show, one winner was selected from five nominees in 29 distinct categories. 2K Games made the largest impact in the awards, taking home top honors for BioShock Infinite in multiple categories including Best First-Person Shooter, Best Xbox 360 Game, Best PlayStation 3 Game, Best PC Game and Game of Show.
"E3 2011 clearly raised the bar for software quality across the board. It was difficult to find any average games at the show, which made selecting the nominees and winners for this year's awards particularly difficult," said Shane Satterfield, editor-in-chief, GameTrailers.com. "With two new platforms debuted in the Nintendo Wii U and PlayStation Vita, it's obvious that the industry continues to grow and innovate. We salute the publishers and developers for an absolutely amazing show."
The expert editorial staff at GameTrailers selected winners out of 145 total nominees across all platforms and genres. With the exception of the Best Trailer Award, One to Watch and Missing in Action Awards, all games had to be playable by the GameTrailers editorial staff at the show to be eligible.
Spike TV's programming drew in more than 4.4 million viewers while GameTrailers.com saw more than 11 million total visits to the website. "GameTrailers TV Presents E3 All Access Live" totaled 3.4 million online streams, marking Viacom's biggest live-streaming event.
