FERNDALE, Mich., Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Gage Products will be the presenting sponsor for the Detroit Zoological Society's Wildlife Conservation Gala on Saturday, March 18 at the Detroit Zoo's Royal Oak campus.
Based in nearby Ferndale, Gage is an industry leader in automotive paint systems, solvents and fuels and is considered a pioneer in the development of sustainable, closed-loop manufacturing processes for automotive paints.
The black-tie-optional gala will be held at the zoo's Wildlife Interpretive Gallery and will include hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, a sit-down dinner and raffle. With the theme of "Making a Difference," the event will highlight the Detroit Zoological Society's (DZS) efforts to save endangered species around the world.
"Gage Products is proud to help 'Make a Difference' in the Detroit Zoological Society's ongoing efforts to repopulate endangered species throughout the United States and the world," said Dan Finkiewicz, Gage's chairman and president.
In the last two years alone, the DZS has led and participated in conservation programs spanning six continents. From working to reverse the global amphibian crisis to rescuing and rehabilitating imperiled gorilla populations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (an effort which earned the DZS an International Conservation Award from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums), the organization has contributed to wildlife conservation efforts worldwide.
"The Wildlife Conservation Gala will help us continue to ensure the long-term survival of endangered animals that represent our planet's rich biodiversity," noted DZS Executive Director and CEO Ron Kagan.
A third-generation, family-owned business, Gage Products was founded in 1936 and has more than 30 years of automotive purge-solvent remanufacturing experience. The company recently dedicated new laboratory facilities in Ferndale to bring research-and-development, quality control and customer service laboratories in-house. Gage invested more than $3 million in the new 5,000-square-foot facility, nearly doubling its laboratory space.
Gage has pioneered development of sustainable closed-loop manufacturing processes for automotive paint systems and custom chemical mixing capabilities to reduce process costs and increase effective resource management. With a global customer base of more than 20 vehicle manufacturers and two dozen automotive and industrial suppliers, Gage provides high-performance solvent blends, as well as solvent reclamation and recycling services. The company also produces custom test-fuel blends and calibration fluids, and offers paint-line cleaning programs and specialty product solutions.
