Fujitsu M10 Server Loaner Program Helps Speed Deployment and Reduce Risk for IT Modernization and Consolidation Projects
Zero-Cost Enterprise Server Loaners Let Businesses Test Products and Experience Innovative Technologies On-Premise Prior to Purchase
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu, a Diamond-level member in Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), today announced several global marketplace successes with its Fujitsu M10 server evaluation loaner program that lets customers and resellers and partners experience the high-performance business server on-site and at zero cost. The program allows organizations to verify expectations, test new technologies, maintain business continuity and minimize risk during project planning and implementation for IT modernization and consolidation projects.
The loaner program includes a pool of powerful and compact 1RU Fujitsu M10-1 servers and the modular and highly scalable Fujitsu M10-4S servers, and gives customers the ability to specify their exact configuration. These high-performance, yet affordable servers are based on the Fujitsu SPARC64® X+ processors and run Oracle Solaris. Oracle Solaris 11 complements the Fujitsu M10 server's capabilities by offering complete built-in virtualization, application-driven software-defined networking (SDN), and a full OpenStack distribution. This powerful combination creates a highly efficient, compliant, secure, open and affordable foundation for private cloud computing for a broad range of industries including financial services, communications, healthcare, media and entertainment, retail and the public sector.
"The Fujitsu M10 loaner program helped to convince us that it was the right decision to take the big step to new Fujitsu M10 server hardware for our most critical operational system at Brussels Airport. The loaner system allowed us to pre-test the migration, enabling us to quickly put M10 servers into place without losing valuable time. These pre-tests also showed us that that the Fujitsu M10 system delivers the performance and stability we needed for the infrastructure. The Fujitsu loaner program demonstrates to us that Fujitsu wants its customers to be fully satisfied with what they buy," said Pol De Busschere, Datacenter Manager at the Brussels Airport Company in Belgium.
According to Krys Armatys, vice president and chief technology officer for HighVail, a Canadian-based market leader in delivering IT infrastructure and technology, "The Fujitsu M10 server loaner program has been invaluable to HighVail. Thanks to this program HighVail has successfully validated the migration and consolidation of multiple legacy Oracle Solaris environments on the Fujitsu M10 platform using the latest Oracle VM Server for SPARC virtualization and Oracle Solaris container technologies. The Fujitsu M10 loaner program has significantly accelerated HighVail's service delivery capabilities, and in turn has enabled our mutual customers to adopt and realize the benefits of this cost effective, highly scalable, flexible and reliable architecture within their own datacenters."
Tarrie French, senior account executive at Alphanumeric, a leading provider of business productivity services based in Raleigh, NC, said, "The Fujitsu M10 server loaner program has been tremendously helpful to our marketing and presales teams, where we have taken possession of a system for several months to conduct live demonstrations to showcase the unique technologies of the Fujitsu M10 – like the green technologies that enable lower power consumption – and its superior overall price/performance. These live demos done to a highly qualified prospect have helped us win sales. Few server vendors offer these types of programs and it is precisely these sorts of initiatives that strengthen our business relationship with partners like Fujitsu."
Taking advantage of the Fujitsu M10 loaner program, Fujitsu Technology and Business of America (FTBA) recently utilized Fujitsu M10-1 loaners during the planning and implementation phase of its upgrade to the latest release of Oracle E-Business Suite. FTBA consolidated from five legacy SPARC® servers to three Fujitsu M10-1 servers, enhancing the speed of its business support services and reducing the datacenter footprint by 90 percent, while lowering energy consumption by 50 percent and maintenance fees by 40 percent.
The zero-cost loaner program features an easy approval process that includes a simple loaner agreement. Fujitsu will deliver the customized server to the customer's location for up to two months (extensions are given for special requests).
