Laude Jose Fernandez Arroyo, appointed as managing director, will lead the Forensic and Litigation Consulting Segment's practice based in Bogota. Mr. Fernandez Arroyo's appointment underscores FTI's strategic focus on Latin America and broadens the scope of service offerings it has available across the region.

Laude Jose Fernandez Arroyo is a managing director in FTI Consulting's Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice in Colombia, and the head of its office in Bogota. An attorney and former Director General of Colombia's national intelligence and security agency, DAS, Laude has over 22 years of experience in investigations, intelligence and security. His extensive professional experience includes fraud, intellectual property and money-laundering investigations, detection and prevention.
Before joining FTI, Mr. Fernandez Arroyo was the General Manager of the National Institute of Investigation and Fraud Prevention ("INIF") based in Bogota, where between December 2002 and November 2009 he created and implemented a comprehensive Anti- Fraud Prevention program for the insurance sector. He was appointed Technical Secretary of the National Committee Against Vehicular Theft, created by President Alvaro Uribe with the cooperation of public and private agencies.
Prior to INIF, Mr. Fernandez Arroyo launched his own investigations and security company, Ser y Estrategia, and was an external adviser for the intelligence division (D-2) of the National Army of Colombia. He provided strategic security consultancy, investigative and litigation support services to the oil and pharmaceutical sectors and to other leading national and multinational companies in Colombia.
Between 1987 and 1997, Mr. Fernandez Arroyo served in the Department of Administrative Security ("DAS"), the state intelligence and security organization, where he rose to Director General of Intelligence. During this time, he was closely engaged in fighting the Medellin and Cali drug-trafficking cartels. Mr. Fernandez Arroyo also served as the Liaison Officer with foreign law enforcement and intelligence agencies, including the local Italian, United States and Great Britain Anti-Drugs Offices.
Mr. Fernandez Arroyo is a licensed attorney from the Universidad Externado de Colombia in Bogota, and has a Dual Postgraduate Degree in Government, Management and Public Affairs from the Universidad Externado de Colombia in conjunction with Columbia University in the US. His education credentials include a specialization in Political Science from the Universidad de Salamanca, seminars and courses from the Spanish Police, including operational analysis of organized crime by EUROPOL in Madrid. Mr. Fernandez Arroyo graduated with a degree in Political Studies from the School Fu Hsing Kan in Taiwan.
