Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Agilent's Dominance in the Global RF Test Equipment Market
Technological brilliance and strong customer-focused approach allow the company to stay leagues ahead of competition
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the radio-frequency (RF) test equipment market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Agilent Technologies Inc. (Agilent) with the 2012 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Company of the Year.
The evolution of wireless standards and new market requirements constantly challenge participants in the global RF test equipment market. A leading provider of advanced electronic design automation (EDA) software and wireless test and measurement instruments, Agilent has been consistently dominating this dynamic and highly competitive market through the combination of superior technological skills and strong customer relations across applications, from research and development (R&D) to manufacturing to field.
"Leveraging competitive strengths, which include technological excellence, focus on innovation, and global reach, Agilent operates with the primary goal of being the most productive and effective partner for its global customers," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Prathima Bommakanti. "The company's advanced and comprehensive range of solutions allows it to address almost all the major design and testing needs in wireless communications, enabling its customers to turn ideas into validated products faster."
Some of Agilent's key offerings in the RF test equipment space are the future-proof X-Series signal generators and signal analyzers. Another noteworthy solution is the 89600 VSA, a highly advanced vector signal analysis software tool that provides complete visibility across signal interactions and can be used with Agilent's benchtop and modular test equipment, and with its EDA software. For EDA, the company offers ADS—one of the world's leading EDA software tools for RF/microwave and high-speed digital applications—and SystemVue, which allows system architects to innovate and design wireless communication systems as well as test them in pieces as prototypes become available.
"Agilent displays a strong dedication to work closely with its customers in order to better understand their requirements and challenges, as well as collect their feedback," observed Bommakanti. "It also places significant importance on the customization of its products in line with individual customer requirements."
In 2012, the company increased its R&D investment by 3 percent compared to 2011, enabling the introduction of easy-to-use test solutions that offer fast results, even for the most complex test requirements in the RF market. As a result, Agilent had the leading share of 26.9 percent in the global RF test equipment market, as of 2011. It also leads the traditional test equipment space; in 2011, market share was at 42 percent.
"Agilent's approach couples flexibility with a clear focus on accelerating measurement insight and maintaining measurement integrity," concluded Bommakanti. "Therefore, its customers can focus on their development and deployment requirements with the reassurance that their test and measurement needs are completely addressed with the highest level of quality."
In recognition of its achievements, Agilent is the worthy recipient of the 2012 Frost & Sullivan Company of the Year Award in the global RF test equipment market. Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in terms of growth strategy and implementation. The award recognizes a high degree of innovation with products and technologies, and the resulting leadership in terms of customer value and market penetration.
