MALVERN, Pa., May 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Frontline Education achieved major strategic milestones in the first quarter of 2017 across new clients, new solutions and thought leadership with the launches of the company's Integrated Insights Platform, Frontline Mobile and civil discourse-focused publication, The Line, along with increased results in financing and acquisition, that together have yielded new solutions offerings and client partnerships. The early momentum has continued into the second quarter of this year.
"We spent much of 2016 executing on aggressive sales and service strategies designed to promote growth across the organization and help achieve the goals of the districts we support," said Frontline Education President & CEO, Tim Clifford. "Strategic acquisitions, core product development and service platform investments built a foundation for the launch of the Integrated Insights Platform as well as The Line in early 2017, while an aggressive sales and service approach positioned Frontline to attract, implement and service more than 9,500 K-12 organizations, including more than 8,500 districts."
The launch of the K-12 education market's first Integrated Insights Platform provided opportunities to expand Frontline Education's market position across the company's industry-leading solutions portfolio in Recruiting & Hiring, Absence & Time, Professional Growth and Special Ed & Interventions. This shift, early in the first quarter of 2017, resulted in increased partnerships with districts of all sizes and types including more than 125 multi-application sales and 77% of sales coming from existing clients, demonstrating high client satisfaction as well as the strong validation of Frontline's solutions.
An approximate 20% increase in applications per client from 2016 to early 2017 indicates a shift towards more significant district partnerships with Frontline Education over typical point solution vendor relationships and shows that districts understand the benefits of adopting multiple, integrated solutions from one partner. Applications and solutions releases including Frontline Mobile, which added more than 10,000 active users in three months, and Frontline Central gave Frontline Education the leading market position necessary to ensure key sales including Detroit Public Schools, Kansas City Public Schools Unified School District 500 and Jefferson County Schools.
"The time savings with Frontline Central is huge. Lots of streamlining and lots of important timelines reduced so that we can focus on bigger and better things," said Loraine Morazzano, Ph.D., Senior Chief Officer, Human Capital for Grand Prairie Independent School District in Texas. "We are saving money by eliminating the paper from our onboarding process. Now that money is freed up for other initiatives."
While organic growth represents a large percentage of the strategic plan, Frontline Education has also maintained corporate development momentum from the five acquisitions that were completed last year. Frontline investors finished 2016 by raising another round of equity capital to put an additional $100 million in acquisition-related funding on the balance sheet. A critical component of growth at Frontline Education coming into 2017, that foundation led to the acquisition of Teachers-Teachers early in the second quarter.
In addition to milestones in sales, acquisition and development, the debut of The Line, a publication for superintendents by superintendents, created a tangible representation of Frontline Education's thought leadership initiative. Focused on civil discourse and the path forward for K-12 education, The Line is a publication of the Frontline Research & Learning Institute.
The recently announced appointment of Ted Mitchell, former Under Secretary of the US Department of Education, to the Frontline Education board has added to the company's leadership position in the education market.
