"We are honored to have our Spartan Series solution selected as a finalist for the Golden Bridge Awards," said Ashish Sharma, CMO of FreeWave Technologies. "FreeWave has provided and manufactured leading machine-to-machine wireless networking solutions for 20 years and our technology is trusted by government and military organizations where reliability and security considerations are paramount for operational success."
The Spartan Series offers a highly secure data communications link (encrypted data is sent and received both reliably and on a real-time basis) for a variety of government and defense applications, such as soldier training exercises, command and control of unmanned aerial vehicles and critical asset tracking. The Spartan Series solution is future-proof, offering an upgrade path to NSA Secret and Below (SaB). By offering a FIPS 140-2 Level 2 crypto algorithm, the Spartan Series radios also support counter mode, which uses a sequence of blocks to encrypt the data that is never repeated. In counter mode, critical data is more secure than the standard AES electronic codebook, where a given block of data will always return the same encrypted block of data. Additional features and available frequencies include:
- Up to 32 unique crypto keys
- Remote capability to zeroize an individual key or all keys
- NSA "Suite B" algorithms
- The ability to upgrade to a DS-101 key loading interface
- Advanced key handling architecture
- 2.4 GHz Serial
- 1.3 GHz Serial
- 1.3 GHz Ethernet
