Freedom One Financial Group Announces John A. Caldwell as Chief Investment Officer

CLARKSTON, Mich., July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Clarkston, Mich.-based Freedom One Financial Group, one of the nation's leading 401(k) plan consultants, is pleased to announce the addition of John A. Caldwell to the executive team as chief investment officer. Freedom One Financial Group President and CEO Mark Wayne made the announcement.

Mr. Caldwell has more than 15 years of experience in investment policy design, fund manager selection and oversight, portfolio management and financial statement analysis. In his role as CIO, Mr. Caldwell will manage the investment team of Freedom One Investment Advisors, perform research, facilitate direct asset allocation decisions, develop market and economic forecasts and communicate with plan sponsors and participants regarding the firm's investment process.

Prior to joining Freedom One Financial Group, Mr. Caldwell served as chief investment strategist and managing director of portfolio strategy for Cleveland, Ohio-based McDonald Investments, as well as executive director for a portfolio management division of UBS Financial Services. In his previous positions he has managed model portfolios for asset management groups with more than $30 billion in assets and a large cap portfolio with nearly $2 billion in assets.

Mr. Caldwell attended Cornell University and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Cleveland State University. He has served as a frequent guest contributor on CNBC, Squawk Box and Bloomberg TV. He holds various FINRA licenses, including Series 7, 9/10, 16 and 86/87.
