FRC's Tony Perkins Speaks to Rally of Ten Thousand Across from Nation's Largest Abortion Facility
Perkins Warns Houston "Abortion Super Center" Will Be Prototype Under President Obama's Health Care Plan
HOUSTON, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An estimated 10,000 people converged on Houston, Texas today for a pro-life prayer rally and march across from the nation's largest abortion facility. Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, joined Lou Engle of The Call to Conscience in Houston today to rally pro-life Americans from across the country. Several Hispanic and African-American Christian leaders also joined the rally in front of the massive six-story Planned Parenthood abortion facility.

"Planned Parenthood's Houston abortion super center will most likely become the prototype for so-called 'preventative care' centers under President Obama's health care plan," said Perkins.
"Make no mistake about it, the present health care bill gives bureaucrats in Washington great discretion in how they dole out funds and to what programs. Most of these decisions will be made by Kathleen Sebelius, the former governor of Kansas who has a record that made her the most pro-abortion governor in America.
"Already, Planned Parenthood is counting the millions, if not billions, of dollars the organization will receive under the current Obama plan. And that's just federal funding. As the legislation stands now, Planned Parenthood would be considered an 'authorized care provider' by private insurers, which would flood the organization's coffers with even more money regardless of its predatory record against minorities.
"Unless we stop the health care bill, Planned Parenthood stands to advance the culture of death that's responsible for projects like Houston's abortion super center. At the same time, however, poll after poll shows that the culture of life is gaining ground throughout the nation. The Obama health care legislation is an attempt to silence the culture of life in this country, which is why it must fail," concluded Perkins.
