FranNet's Jania Bailey Awarded SCORE's Prestigious 2013 Lou Campanelli Award
WASHINGTON, Aug. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SCORE, – www.score.org -- America's premier source of free and confidential small business advice, is pleased to announce that Jania Bailey, President and COO of FranNet, will be presented with the 2013 Lou Campanelli Award. The award is presented by SCORE annually and recognizes outstanding leadership, vision and philanthropy in support of small business, entrepreneurship and SCORE. The presentation of the Lou Campanelli Award will take place during the SCORE Awards ceremony on August 15, 2013 in Dallas, TX.
"I am honored and humbled to be given this award," said Bailey. "My entire career has been involved with helping people realize their dreams of business ownership, so working with SCORE is such a natural fit for me personally as well as for FranNet. Both organizations exist to help small business people."
Jania Bailey has more than 25 years of experience in the banking and franchise industries. She is the author of the book, Thriving – The Journey to Success in the Business World, and has received numerous industry awards and recognitions, including: 1998 recipient of the "Woman of Achievement" from the St. Matthews Business and Professional Women Organization; 1997 recipient of the Louisville Business First "Forty Under Forty" Outstanding Business Leaders; and 1995 recipient of the Bell Award for "Outstanding Volunteerism in the Workplace." Bailey sits on the Board of Directors for the International Franchise Association (IFA) and serves on the IFA Membership Committee and the IFA Supply Forum Board. Serving as a mentor to new franchisers, she volunteers with the IFA FranShip program.
Bailey has been instrumental in helping SCORE provide educational resources for both mentors and small business owners. She has provided SCORE mentors with access to her network of franchise experts to assist in the education process on franchising options for entrepreneurs. Under her leadership, FranNet has been a SCORE national sponsor for several years.
"Jania Bailey had been a huge proponent of educating entrepreneurs about all the options available to them for achieving small business success," said SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. "Like our SCORE mentors, she is dedicated to arming small businesses with the information, advice and experience they need to succeed."
The Lou Campanelli Award was first presented to Louis Campanelli of Port Washington, New York in 2006 in honor of his dedicated volunteerism and efforts to build a philanthropic culture for SCORE. For more information on the SCORE Awards, visit www.score.org/score_awards
