Franklin, NJ, CKO Kickboxing Moves to Larger Health Fitness Center after Rapid Rise in New Memberships
FRANKLIN, N.J., May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- As more and more people told their friends about their weight-loss success stories by working out at CKO Kickboxing in Franklin, NJ, it was only a matter of time before the fast-growing fitness center would need to find a bigger place to hold classes.
That time is now.
The popular fitness center will hold Grand Opening festivities on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from noon to 4 p.m. at CKO Kickboxing-Franklin at 44 Ed Mitchell Avenue, adjacent to Shop Rite, according to franchisees Darlene Pallay and Joe Pallay.
There will be plenty of activities for children, including a balloon artist on stilts, face painting and games. Light refreshments and beverages will be available.
Radio station WNNJ 103.7 will broadcast live from 2-4 p.m.
There will be giveaways, including one six-month, free membership to CKO Kickboxing to one lucky person. Special discounts will be offered for new membership enrollment. Discounts will be offered to students, teachers, active military and veterans as well as police and fire personnel. Many members who own local businesses also will offer specials and bonuses.
The newly designed, spacious 8,700 square foot gym with 50 heavy bags replaces the 2,700 square-foot gym with 27 heavy bags so members will have plenty of room to work out. A free child-care center is always available during morning classes Monday through Friday and many evening classes to accommodate stay-at-home moms as well as commuters. The new facility will feature men's and women's locker rooms with showers so early-morning commuters can get a good workout before going to work. Early morning kickboxing classes have been added.
"Unlike other gyms and kickboxing centers that have limited hours, CKO Kickboxing-Franklin will be open 7 days a week and will have classes at all times of the day that are convenient to everyone," she said.
New, low-impact classes are also being offered for seniors, people recovering from injuries and others who want to take part in an easier class that lasts 45 minutes instead of an hour.
"Our membership was growing. We had added as many classes as we could. We were hitting full capacity. It was getting tight. It was time to move," she said. "We are off to a great start in the new location. People have joined because they love the new space which has more parking, more facilities and more classes."
People are attracted by the amenities, but they keep coming back and telling their friends because of the results.
"We've seen amazing results with our members. They've transformed and toned up. They realized kickboxing was the only exercise they need reach their fitness goals," she said.
CKO Kickboxing-Franklin is an active member of the community, having participated in many family oriented activities and fund raisers to help people in Sussex County.
Even with the growth, the Pallays still know each member and their goals so they can create a family atmosphere.
"We get to know our members. We call you by name. We know who you are. That's what makes us stand out," she said. "We respect where they are coming from."
Not only is she the co-owner, she also started as a customer.
"I was a stay at home mom with 3 kids. I was 50 pounds overweight. My mother had uterine cancer because of her weight and I thought 'That could be me. I need to do this.' I came to CKO Kickboxing and was hooked in my first class. I lost 50 pounds," she said.
Her husband, Joe, was an excavating contractor. When business was slow, he decided opening a CKO Kickboxing franchise would be a good move. They also are the franchisees for CKO Kickboxing in Augusta, N.J.
Members can go to either location: Franklin or Augusta for unlimited classes and childcare.
"It's like getting two gyms for the price of one," she said.
"CKO Kickboxing is emerging as one of the leading fitness franchise opportunities in the country," said Joe Andreula, Founder of CKO Kickboxing, one of America's fastest growing franchises according to industry standard Entrepreneur Magazine, which included the sports fitness franchise in its Franchise 500 list of best franchises.
