Former Inhofe Staffer Gets Grip on New Oklahoma Robotics Business
OKLAHOMA CITY, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- A new Oklahoma technology company has formed to develop technologies to improve the functionality of robotics for use in neutralizing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other threats. Contineo Robotics is based in Oklahoma City and will soon be announcing institutional and technology partners throughout the state.

Contineo Robotics also announces that Jeff Wilson, former field representative for Senator James Inhofe, will serve as its Executive Director. Wilson, a native of Savanna, OK and graduate of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK, served as a key staff member to Senator James Inhofe, most recently as Oklahoma City and Southwest Oklahoma Field Representative.
"Over 25,000 military servicemen have been injured in Iraq and Afghanistan as a result of IEDS," commented Contineo's Jeff Wilson. "By improving the level of technology deployed in mobile ground robotics, military personnel can be kept out of harms way, greatly reducing the number of debilitating bomb blast injuries."
The Company is focused on the development of conformal manipulators and advanced control systems that seek to extend the range of human dexterity. Contineo intends to manufacture these systems in Oklahoma City.
Contineo Robotics is already collaborating with large defense integrators, including Northrop Grumman and QinetiQ North America to develop and integrate advanced robotics solutions for homeland security and military applications.
